This Special Report is a greatly expanded edition of a previous report on landslides Special Report , "Landslides: Analysis and Control" published in The new report, which has been designed with an even broader international scope, contains comprehensive, practical discussions of field investigations, laboratory testing, and stability analysis procedures and technologies; comprehensive references to the literature; and discussions of case studies, state-of-the-art techniques, and research directions. The report's 25 chapters are individually authored and each has a separate entry in the TRIS data base. An Author Index and a Subject Index are provided. Open Access libre.
A Storm-Triggered Landslide Monitoring and Prediction System: Formulation and Case Study
It begins by pointing out that, in the years since the last landslides volume was published TRB Special Report , , there have been many advances in the way landslide investigation and mitigation are conducted. Chief among these advances are the advent of the personal computer, the availability of new geotextile products, and new understandings of the behavior of earth materials. Personal computers have allowed numerical stability analysis methods to become commonplace; the use of geotextiles presents options for better and more economical mitigation procedures; and the improved methods for field investigations coupled with new understanding of landslide processes supply better data and concepts to the landslide analysis process. However, landslide investigation and mitigation have been even more greatly affected by the imposition of environmental regulations and economic considerations. This chapter continues with a description of the report's intended audience, the provision of a definition for the term "landslide", historical information concerning landslides, and a brief overview of the report. Landslide Classification and Risk Management
Landslides — Disaster Risk Reduction pp Cite as. Correction of an existing landslide or the prevention of a pending landslide is a function of a reduction in the driving forces or an increase in the available resisting forces. Any remedial measure used must involve one or both of the above parameters.

Search this site. He likes the book so much and tells me that it is a good source of information which has helped him in his research. As an Engineering Geologist this book is an invaluable resource. As the title implies it covers all aspects of landslides from investigation to mitigation as well as current terminology and some insightful case studies. This is a well written book with a good selection of diagrams to support and enhance the text. A must as a reference book for those working or studying in the field of Engineering Geology.
Под его ногами была потайная дверь, почти неразличимая на полу. В руке он сжимал ключ, взятый из лаборатории систем безопасности. Чатрукьян опустился на колени, вставил ключ в едва заметную скважину и повернул.
